My Story

In 2013 I was facing a divorce and overwhelming debt; as I left my 18-year marriage with nothing but a 2001 Chevy Silverado, $15,574 in credit card debt, $2,830 for a car that I no longer owned, and a year later a $8,500 bill from the IRS. For a grand total of $26,904; in the mean time I racked up $15,166 in Student loan debt. For a whopping total of $42,070.
I wanted to finish my bachelor’s degree, so I could ensure my level of income despite the economy. At the same time, I wanted to provide for my two sons that were still in high school. All the while I was carrying this burden of debt with me everywhere, I went.
You see I didn’t want my sons lives to be altered, just because me and their mother where no longer together. I had agreed to pay half of their additional expenses, such as gas, car insurance, and other miscellaneous expenses on top of paying child support.
I was living in a 576 square foot efficiency apartment above an old friends’ garage. I could literally cook, shower, and sleep in the same room. The apartment was only $600 and I could barely pay that much. I was driving a truck that was 13 years old at the time, with over 200,000 miles.
I needed to find the answer, I needed to find a better way. I begin to read and research all of the books and programs for getting out of debt. Unfortunately, they do not teach these strategies in high school, not even college. It wasn’t long and I had pieced together a plan.
A plan that would begin to crush this debt that burdened me on a daily basis. So, I began to track every single dollar that came and went from my checking account.
I have to tell you, this alone can be a challenge, remaining consistent throughout the battle was probably the hardest thing to do. But at age 44 with no retirement savings and a net worth with a negative sign in front of it. What choice did I have?
In the end, the elimination of the debt was just a small step in building the wealth and security in my life that I currently enjoy.
And that is why I decided to help as many people as I can realize the peace of living debt free and the security in knowing that you don’t owe anyone anything.
Now all that you have to do is allow me to guide you through the process and help speed up your turn around. Get you out of the pay check to pay check chase or the I make too much money not to have any trap. I lived them both and as your coach I can bring you to the other side.
